It is with great pleasure and humbleness that I take on the role of Principal at Mt. Hira College.
Mt. Hira College was established in 2000 and is a co-educational P-12 Islamic College, located in Keysborough. Mt. Hira College is committed to raising upstanding citizens of tomorrow and instilling lifelong learning in each and every student. They have done a tremendous job with placing the needs of the students first, providing a safe and nurturing learning environment and meeting school improvement goals.
At Mt Hira College we consider learning and collaboration as key elements in helping our students succeed in their studies. In Term Two, we introduced a Homework Policy to ensure all students understood the importance and value of completing homework tasks to aid in this success.
These homework tasks serve many purposes, including:
- enabling children to practise and strengthen the skills learnt in the classroom,
- providing opportunities for students to share their classroom learning with their family,
- promoting the development of student’s organisational and time management skills.
In order to ensure homework is valued within our school, and to give our students every opportunity to succeed, Mt Hira has organised a Homework Club program that will be available for students during the term. The purpose of this club is to provide a safe and encouraging space for students to assist each other with various school tasks, whilst reaffirming our Homework Policy.
Homework Club will run in Room 8, every Wednesday at lunchtime, where a quiet space will be provided for students to work.
Mt Hira College thanks you in advance for your ongoing support and encourages you to discuss homework with your child’s teacher if you need further clarification.
